Environmental Volunteers Are Everywhere

It’s my hope that with this blog, I’ll be able to shed some light on the work of  environmental volunteers, their stories and their successes. One important aspect of environmental volunteers is that they are not specific to any one place or any one kind or type of place. They are everywhere. So, future posts here will hopefully highlight not just their important work but also the fact that this work is happening all across the globe. Here’s the first of what I hope will be many stories about international environmental volunteers, from the Halesowen News, out of a small town in England. Along with the River Stour Clean Water Project, a number of volunteers braved treacherous weather to pick up litter along the river.  While the weather made it difficult, if not impossible to clean up the river itself, they collected quite a bit of rubbish along the banks. It’s small groups of people, working in small towns, all over the world, who can make a big difference, especially when their efforts are combined in a global web of small but important environmental wins.
